Junior Supremo Training 3

Pupils in Years 6 (Y5 can be permitted)
Groups of up to 10 pupils No gender ratio
Schools can train more pupils if required
The sessions will take place both indoors and outdoors
£50 per group of 10 pupils trained – BRONZE SCHOOLS
£30 per group of 10 pupils trained – SILVER SCHOOLS
Host schools can train up to 10 pupils for free if other schools attend their session. Otherwise charges above apply.

PLEASE REQUEST YELLOW WRIST BANDS FROM SGO TO IDENTIFY PUPILS WHO DO NOT HAVE PHOTOGRAPHIC PERMISSION
School PE kit should be worn with suitable sports trainers
No jewellery & long hair must be securely tied back
Additional clothing items should reflect the weather conditions on that day
SSSP WILL PROVIDE
A member of SSSP/SGO staff to carry out the training.
All other items needed to deliver the training
Small resources pack to take away & a Junior Supremo badge for each participant
Please note – teachers may be needed to support certain activities
Schools to bring own first aid kit
Also SGO (TM) in conjunction with host venue
Schools must be accompanied by a minimum of one teacher/TA per group of pupils attending who are required to remain for the whole session.
Staff are responsible for the safety and behaviour of their pupils at all times.
1ST SESSION (practical & theory) 60 MINS
SHORT BREAK (if on schedule) 15 MINS
2ND SESSION – Practice leadership skills on KS1 pupils 60 MINS
3RD SESSION – Plenary for leaders 15 MINS
REQUIREMENTS FROM HOST SCHOOLS
1ST SESSION – Large indoor space with a PC/laptop and screen.
2ND SESSION – Outside play area for leadership activities with KS1 pupils if the weather is good. If wet, then this session may also have to be delivered inside too.
2 or 3 classes of Y2or Y3 pupils for a period of 60 minutes where Junior Supremos put into practice their newly learned leadership skills. (Number of classes required depends on numbers attending the training and will be confirmed with each individual school nearer the date)
A selection of cones, bean bags and hoops would be useful too.
3RD SESSION – Large indoor space with a PC and screen for short plenary session

JOBS FOR YOUR NEW SCHOOL SPORTS ORGANISING CREW
AbbeyAAbbeyAs part of the School Games offer, schools are encouraged to each host a Sports Organising Crew (SOC) or Sports Council to enrich their provision, provide an outlet for pupil voice and ownership, and encourage the development of leadership.
Specific tasks the SOC could undertake include:
- Assist with Sports Days
- Assist with After school clubs
- Organise lunchtime activities and games with younger age groups
- Assist or run Change for Life Clubs for targeted young people
- Update School Games Board ( PE notice boards ) with photos, club information, fixture information, match reports, Change for Life club reports etc
- Report to Senior Leadership Team
- Canvas opinions about things such as kit, types of activities etc
- Blog on school website and the School Games website
- Write articles for the school newsletter
- More recently and specifically – they could assist with facilitating our Sutton Stars program
These tasks align with those that were suggested for Hippos in previous years.
